I just love it when they eat!

Here’s a quick pick I took tonight after this female yellow belly took a mouse hopper right out of the tongs! She has a great appetite!

I love it when everyone eats good on feeding night. It’s like a sense of accomplishment to know that you are providing optimal husbandry. Because if you weren’t these animals would shut down and not eat. In the years I’ve been raising balls I’ve noticed one of the first signs of trouble is when they shut down and stop eating. And I am not talking about missing one feeding. I am talking about missing a few in a row.

Usually if my guys go off feed, and its not breeding season, I start looking for other signs of trouble. I may just be paranoid, but its better to be safe then sorry!

Blue eyed leucistic and some yellow belly action.

Well out of a clutch of 4 eggs we hatched our first blue eyed leucistic of 2010. I was really hoping for a girl, but its a boy. No harm though, I could use a boy. Just going to be a lot harder to part with when the time comes.

We also hatched a clutch of insane looking yellow bellys. I am not sure if something else is going on with them or if it’s just wishful thinking. What do you think?

I need to get some better pictures of them to show you how wacked out their pattern is… More to come, we got thinks hatchling like crazy here!

For those of you who have asked and emailed me about availability. Right now we are letting things shed, eat, and get established. Once this year’s babies are ready to go we will be posting them up for sale. As of right now we should have some mojos, pins, yellow bellys up on the for sale section in 2 weeks.

What is it?

What is it? Here is an odd clutch coming out. I bred a yellow belly, pewter, and a pin, to one of my normal girls. Look at that wacked out pattern. WTF is it? LOLOL I think the yellow belly is the father, but did he wack out a gene in the mother? Or is he just going to throw some crazy patterns on his offspring? Only a few more days and these guys should be out of the egg.
